Admissions

Referrals can be made by anyone associated with the student. Day pupils with an Education Health and Care Plan are admitted following a referral from Local Authorities. The majority of our students are admitted in line with our criteria for admissions which are young people between 14 -16 years of age with special educational needs as a result of a learning disability combined with difficult or challenging behaviour.

Step 1

Initially, please contact our Admissions Manager, Karen Rolls on: Tel: (01952) 630710.

Karen will liaise with the referring agent to arrange for the young person, parent/carer and professionals to visit our school.

Step 2

The Admissions Manager will also visit the young person in their own setting whether that is the family home or their current placement as well as contacting previous settings for information. This will ensure that critical decisions are made on current information.

Step 3

Once this has been completed our school will make an official offer to the referring agent requesting placement.  Once the offer is accepted our school will keep in close contact with parents/carers to manage the admission transition process.

Step 4

Once a start date has been arranged a transition programme is created. We also encourage the young person and their parents/carers to meet our staff to help provide as much of an insight into life at The Seeds School whilst introducing students to their new peers.

A young person does not need specific qualifications to secure a place with us. Our school simply needs to ensure we have the best infrastructure available to help each child gain an excellent education and reach their full potential. The Seeds School accepts young people from all backgrounds.
